Visitation for Albert V. Golowski, 77, of Kankakee, will be from 4-8 p.m. today, with a wake service at 4 p.m., at the Clancy Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday by the Fathers Dennis Settles and Ed O’Malley at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Kankakee, where he was a member.
Burial will be in Mt: Calvary Cemetery .
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno or to St. Martin’s Building fund.
Mr. Golowski died Monday (Nov. 16, 1998) at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.
A Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, he was a member of the American Legion Post 85 and the VFW I Kankakee.
Mr. Golowski also served on the Jury Commission and was a former 9-year Commissioner on the Kankakee Valley Park Board.
He was born Nov. 20, 1921 in Kan-kakee, the son of Zigmund V. and Mary Osenglewski Golowski, who are deceased.
Surviving are his wife, the former Polly Clayton, whom he married Sept. 19, 1948 at St. Stanislaus Rectory in Kankakee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Laura Golowski of Kankakee, Mark and Jane Golowski of Peoria and Mike and Beth Golowski of Bloomington; one sister, Dorothy Golowski of Chicago; six grandchildren Todd and Eric Golowski, Reid and Ellen Golowski and Matthew and Marc Artosqui. ,
His brother, Zig, is also deceased. Mr. Golowski retired after 38
years employment with Northern lllinois Gas Company.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.
He was an avid golfer.
