Carl M. Dundon of Plainwell, MI, Formerly of Kalamazoo and Holiday, FL passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 in Plainwell Pines Nursing Home. Carl was a Kalamazoo resident most of his life. Born on March 3, 1920 in Detroit to Leo and Nellie (Molhoek) Dundon. Carl graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1938 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945, mostly aboard the U.S.S. Sigsbee. He was a tool and die engineer for numerous firms, retiring from Fabrikal in 1978. He was an inventor, boater, hunter, and above all, golfer. His wife of 57 years, Frieda (Allen) Dundon passed away May 27, 2000. Surviving are two sons, Gregory (Kathy) Dundon of South Lyon, MI and Ronald (Dixie Edwards) Dundon of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are a brother, Clyde (Audrey) Dundon of Eagle River, WI; a sister-in-law, Virginia Allen of Plainwell; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. An informal graveside memorial will be held on July 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Webmaster's notes; Carl M Dundon, service #623 72 29, enlisted in the US Navy V-6 September 18, 1942. He was received aboard the USS Sigsbee DD-502 May 4, 1943, at Norfolk, VA. Carl M Dundon, MM1c, served Two years, five months and nineteen days on the DD-502 and was transferred to RS Philidelphia, PA October 22, 1945, for further transfer to Separation Center Great Lakes, IL, for discharge.
