Harry J. Boidy, Sr.
Harry J. Boidy, Sr. 78, formerly of Brooklyn, Md. entered into God's eternal care on Monday, April 18, 2005, at the Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Center. He was the husband of Dorothy 'Dot' L. (Greenholtz) Boidy to whom he was married for 55 years.
Born on October 27, 1926, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Harry F. and Catherine (Cooper) Boidy.
Harry was a member of the American Legion Post 605 of Dallastown, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Dallastown, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.
Mr. Boidy retired from the Chessie Railroad System after 43 years of service. During this time, he was employed as a computer operator.
In addition to his wife, Dot, Harry is survived by two sons, Harry J. Boidy, Jr. of Westminster, Md. and Patrick C. Boidy of Millersville, Md.: three daughters, Linda L. Pearlman of Baltimore, Deb B. Lowry and Kathleen Rahilly both of York, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Cessna of Florida and Alva Hook of Ocean City, Md.
Webmaster Notes: Harry J. Boidy enlisted in the US Navy December 8, 1944, service number 759 01 56. He was received on the USS Sigsbee DD-502 as F1c March 27, 1946. Harry J. Boidy F1c was transferred from the USS Sigsbee prior to October 1, 1946 according to the ship's Muster Rolls.
